2019年9月至2020年12月，最高人民檢察院、國家市場監(jiān)督管理總局、國家藥品監(jiān)督管理局在全國聯(lián)合開展落實食品藥品安全專項行動，落實最嚴格的監(jiān)管及最嚴厲的處罰。
Chinese authorities have launched a national food safety campaign, requiring the "strictest" supervision over the food sector and the "harshest" penalties for violations. The crackdown, which runs from September 2019 to December 2020, was initiated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) in collaboration with the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Medical Products Administration.

食品安全既是重大的民生問題，也是重大的政治問題。2019年5月，中共中央、國務(wù)院發(fā)布《關(guān)于深化改革加強食品安全工作的意見》，科學(xué)闡述了食品安全工作在黨和國家事業(yè)全局中的地位，規(guī)定了新時代食品安全工作的指導(dǎo)思想、基本原則、總體目標、行動步驟、組織方式等。
本次專項行動要求 “最嚴謹?shù)臉藴省⒆顕栏竦谋O(jiān)管、最嚴厲的處罰、最嚴肅的問責”，將重點打擊發(fā)生在校園及其周邊、餐飲聚集區(qū)、農(nóng)貿(mào)批發(fā)市場、種養(yǎng)殖生產(chǎn)基地、菜籃子產(chǎn)品主產(chǎn)區(qū)、農(nóng)村和城鄉(xiāng)接合部、食品和副食品批發(fā)市場、冷庫物流中心等區(qū)域的案件；呈現(xiàn)規(guī)模化、組織化、鏈條化的案件；涉及嬰幼兒食品和藥品的案件；利用網(wǎng)絡(luò)、電商平臺、社交媒體、電視購物欄目等實施的案件；人民群眾反映強烈、社會影響惡劣、輿論高度關(guān)注的案件等。

各級黨委和政府及有關(guān)部門要全面做好食品安全工作，堅持最嚴謹?shù)臉藴省⒆顕栏竦谋O(jiān)管、最嚴厲的處罰、最嚴肅的問責，增強食品安全監(jiān)管統(tǒng)一性和專業(yè)性，切實提高食品安全監(jiān)管水平和能力。
Party committees and governments at all levels should invest more efforts to ensure food safety, with the most rigorous standards, the most stringent regulation, the most severe punishment and the most serious accountability. There needs to be a more unified and professional supervision system that is capable of enforcing food safety rules.
